Oliver was first introduced to motorsport from an early age when his father, Carl Jarvis, was competing in Formula Ford 1600. Naturally, it was not long before the very young Oliver Jarvis had aspirations to get into the driving seat himself. At six years old, he enjoyed his first taste of motorcross competition, albeit then two wheels not four. At the age of eight, Oliver made the transition to race karts, where he gained valuable experience and progressed through the categories. During his 10 years in karts, he achieved notable success in British and European events, as well as in World Karting as a TonyKart Works Driver.
Oliver moved from European Karting when he was 18 to the highly competitive British single seater car championships racing in the Formula Ford category before moving to Formula Renault.
2005 proved to be an outstanding year of achievements for Oliver when he clinched the title convincingly to become the UK Formula Renault Champion. That same year he was awarded BRDC Rising Star Status and received the prestigious McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Award.
In 2006 Oliver competed in the British F3 International Series with Carlin Motorsport. In just his first year, he won 3 races, achieved numerous podiums and finished second overall in the Championship to receive the accolade for the highest placed ‘rookie’. During autumn 2006 / winter 2007 Oliver made his debut in A1GP World Cup of Motorsport as one of two drivers representing Team Great Britain. In his first race in Beijing, he claimed second place for Team GBR and then took the team to its first A1GP victory in Mexico.
2007 was especially exciting for Oliver, not least for winning the Macau F3 Grand Prix in tremendous style, which is regarded as the ‘world cup of formula 3 motor-racing’. Oliver had moved to Japan earlier in the year to join the successful TOM’S Toyota F3 team to take part in the extremely competitive All Japan F3 Championship in his first role as a professional works driver. He achieved multiple race wins for the TOM’s Toyota team.
Oliver continued to drive for A1 Team GBR in the 2007-2008 A1 World Cup of Motorsport where he scored a victory for the team in the series opener in Zandvoort (2007) and podium finishes in South Africa and Mexico (2008).
A highlight of his 2007 career was claiming his prize of test in a Formula One car following his McLaren Autosport BRDC Award win in 2005. Oliver got behind the wheel of the Vodafone Mercedes McLaren MP4-21 F1 car at the Silverstone circuit and was thrilled to experience his first taste of driving a Formula One car.
In 2008, Oliver made his debut in the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) as a factory driver for Audi Sport Team Phoenix in the world’s most popular international touring car series. Consistently fastest in the year old car, he impressed the team and onlookers alike in both 2008 and 2009.
2010 brought with it a move to Audi Sport Team Abt in what turned out to be a challenging championship, and also his debut in the Le Mans 24 Heures in which he clinched the "Best Rookie Driver" Award.
During 2012, Oliver combines Audi factory driver duties testing and competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship driving the Audi R18 Ultra with competing in the FIA GT1 World Championship for the Belgian private WRT team in the Audi R8 LMS ultra.
