RECORD TURNOUT FOR 2009 DTM LAUNCH |
|
A record turnout of 210,000 spectators witnessed the official presentation of the 2009 DTM in Düsseldorf last Sunday.
In brilliant sunshine, the Audi drivers untiringly signed autographs along the famous shopping street. Oliver Jarvis, together with title defender Timo Scheider and Martin Tomczyk, thrilled fans with slow laps at the wheel of their Audi A4 DTM cars and pit stop demonstrations.
Audi will this year be using motorsport to promote a very special sporting event, the Audi Cup; a soccer tournament to be staged at Munich’s Allianz Arena on 29 and 30 July on the occasion of Audi’s 100th anniversary.
Oliver will be driving the Audi DTM car to promote this tournament which brings together teams including AC Milan, FC Bayern Munchen, Manchester United and Club Atletic Boca Juniors.
A big soccer fan, Oliver hopes to be able to personally witness the games live on location. The 2009 DTM season kicks off at the Hockenheimring on 17 May. (www.dtm.com)
