First Ever DTM Podium for Jarvis in Series Opener
Great Britain’s Oliver Jarvis secured his first ever DTM podium finish in the opening race of the season in Hockenheim, Germany yesterday (Sunday).

The 24 year old Audi driver, who made his debut in the DTM series last year, achieved his best result yet with a third place podium finish and also delivered the best result of the field in a year old car. In fact, it was smiles all round for Audi at the 100th race of the new DTM as they notched up a 1,2,3,4 finish with their drivers.

Driving the distinctive 2008 spec Audi Cup car for Audi Sport Team Phoenix, Oliver had qualified in a strong position starting on the second row of the grid in fourth place.     Speaking after the race which attracted over 91,000 spectators in this hugely popular touring car series,

Oliver Jarvis said “I’m absolutely elated.  It was a great weekend for us.  The free practice went well and so did qualifying.  The race went according to plan and to achieve a podium result at the season opener is a nice reward for the hard work Team Phoenix has invested in the cars during the winter.”

Team Director for Audi Sport Team Pheonix, Mr Ernst Moser, said “We always had the goal to finish on the podium, but the race showed that the new (2009 spec) cars are definitely stronger. We kept Di Resta at bay and our pace was really good.”  DTM Round 1 Results and Point Scores:
