Smitten with Kitesurfing
It’s been a while since my last entry so apologies to readers. There has just been so much going on.

Since I last blogged there have been several races.

Zandvoort was exactly the weekend I needed after two non-finishes. The first ever pole in a year old car and a podium finish. It could have been much better if not for a small mistake which cost me the chance of a win.

After the race I stayed on for a kitesurfing lesson.  It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and the Zandvoort beach and winds are perfect for learning. I was completely hooked after just one lesson … so much so, that as soon as I got back to Switzerland I looked on the internet for near by kiting spots.  I headed straight off to Lake Silvaplana in St Moritz. There I had another lesson and an amazing day.  It is one of the most picturesque lakes in the world with perfect clear water. It’s quite a sight to see hundreds of kites and windsurfers on this lake surrounded by mountains. My only regret is not taking my camera.

After a short break it was of to Oschersleben which was a really good weekend right up until two laps from the end where I got a puncture. It was an extremely hot and physical race. To be running in the points all race only to get a puncture two laps from the end was really disappointing but at least we had been quick all weekend.

Luckily after Oschersleben, I headed straight off on holiday for a week in Lanzarote. It was exactly what I needed after the previous two races and it gave me the opportunity to train and re-focus for the rest of the season. The weather was beautiful all week and the only disappointment was that there was no kitesurfing nearby!
