Oliver Jarvis, the award winning young racing driver from Burwell, Cambridgeshire is delighted to have signed a sponsorship agreement with John Banks Group, one of the largest motor dealerships in East Anglia. The 22 year old racing star was delighted to visit John Banks Honda Cambridge to take delivery of a brand new Honda Civic 2.2 CTDi which was officially presented to him by Managing Director Mark Banks and Personnel & Marketing Director, Melanie Banks-Browne on behalf of John Banks Group, a name in itself with a heritage in motorsport, albeit two wheels rather than four. Oliver, who won the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Award last December and was awarded BRDC Rising Star Status, has this year been successfully competing in British Formula Three driving his Mugen Honda powered F3 car for Carlin Motorsport. Currently second in the Championship, Oliver will also next week (29 September) make his debut in the A1 World Cup of Motorsport as one of the trio of drivers selected to represent A1GP Team Great Britain.
John Banks Group remains a family run business that has seen dramatic growth since its formation as a small motorcycle shop in 1974 by six times British Motocross Champion and company Chairman, John Banks. His son, Mark Banks, is also a former British Motocross Champion twice over. To celebrate its connection with the sport, the company offers special discounts on Mitsubishi L200 pick-ups to customers involved in Motocross. Today, John Banks Group employs over 145 people with seven dealerships across the Cambridge / Suffolk region. The Group’s most recent venture has been the addition of John Banks Honda Cambridge earlier this year situated on Newmarket Road. Oliver Jarvis says, “I’m delighted with every aspect of the Honda Civic and very pleased to be associated with such a respected name as John Banks Group.”
