Oliver Jarvis has signed up with the reigning Japanese F3 championship winning TOM’S Toyota team for 2007. The 22 year old 2005 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award winner, who was runner-up and highest placed rookie driver in this year’s British F3 International Series driving for Carlin Motorsport, will make his debut in the All Japan F3 Championship next season. The signing followed an invitation from TOM’S Toyota who singled Jarvis out as a hot prospect for their 2007 driver line-up. “I am really excited to be part of the TOM’S Toyota team,” says Jarvis who will re-locate from Cambridgeshire to live in Japan during the F3 season next year. “It is a great honour to be invited to join such a well-respected and successful team, especially as this is my first role as a professional works driver.” Jarvis departs this month for Japan to fulfil his first testing obligations for the TOM’S Toyota team whose Adrian Sutil claimed the 2006 Japanese F3 Championship title this year. Previous drivers to their credit include Jacques Villeneuve, Peter Dumbreck and Darren Manning. TOM’S Toyota comments, “We are very pleased to have Oliver Jarvis next year to defend our championship title for the third consecutive year, and we believe he will have a very pleasant time in Japan with us.” |
