A1GP Round 7 - Friday Practice

SOLID FRIDAY EFFORT FOR GREAT BRITAIN

Friday 02 February, 2007 - A1 Team Great Britain had a solid Friday practice at the Eastern Creek International Raceway ahead of Sunday's seventh round of the 2006-07 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport at the Australian track with Oliver Jarvis running in the rookie only session in the morning before handing over to Robbie Kerr for the afternoon's official practice session.

gbr-aus2_jarvis_fridayJarvis posted the ninth fastest lap time in the hour-long rookie session, the first half of which saw heavy drizzle greet the 18 nations opting to venture out on the 2.4-mile circuit before conditions later improved and a dry line emerged.  Switching to a dry set-up for Kerr's outing in the afternoon, the team improved the pace of the car throughout the session in preparation for Saturday's qualifying run.

Oliver Jarvis:
"I really enjoyed myself out there on the circuit.  It's the first time I've driven the A1GP car in the wet but it handled well and this is an absolutely fantastic track, it'll make for a great race.  I had to perform all the usual team duties of bedding in brakes and discs, which was made slightly harder by the weather, but we're getting to grips with the circuit and making progress.  I think the car will be in good shape come Sunday's races."
