A new month racing with a view
Having returned from a fantastic weekend in Mexico where I managed to finally get that long awaited win for A1 Team GBR, there was little time to relax as I headed straight into my first All Japan F3 race of the season at Fuji.

The weekend got off to a flying start with me taking my first win the opening race.  However, I was unable to repeat this in Race 2 and managed only third position.  I wasn't too disappointed with this as Fuji is one my least favourite circuits and I leave the weekend second in the Championship.

Overall the race weekend was a fantastic experience and one very different to that of British F3.  With Formula Nippon also present, the crowds are much bigger but the most noticeable difference is the fans!  It is overwhelming as a foreign driver to come over to Japan and receive the sort of support I have in only my first race.

So far I have been made to feel very welcome in Japan.  I advise any body who gets the chance to visit Japan.  The culture can be a real shock to many people but the one thing you instantly notice is how friendly everyone is.

I'm currently living an apartment in Gotemba which is about an hour outside Tokyo, and extremely close to the beautiful site of Mount Fuji.  Gotemba itself is a quiet area but there are many drivers who live here so it has made life much easier to meet people and make new friends!

From here, I now have a two week break until my next race at Suzuka.  So, until then, my time will be mainly spent working on my fitness and I also hope to spend a few days in Tokyo exploring … and of course, do a little shopping!
